About Our Team
Jared has been an integral part of the Academy Sports team for over 2 decades and serves as our General Manager. In high school he was a part of the 1991 Brighton Baseball State Championship Team and is still active in softball and basketball. In college he earned his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Utah. Today he coaches his son in baseball, basketball and football including multiple football championships. He is married to his high school sweetheart Hillary, they are proud parents to Lexee, Samye and Hagen and grandparents to Scarlett.
Bart has been in the team sales industry for over 20 years. As a graduate of American Fork HS he participated in both football and track. He was the State Champion in the 100m and 200m and held the State Record in both (the 200m 4A record lasted for 24 years). He was the Utah High School Track Male Athlete of the Year in 1989 & his wife won the same award for Female Athlete that year as well. He earned All American and Academic All American honors for NJCAA. He is married to his beautiful wife Lynette and they have 3 wonderful children.
Scott has been working in the sporting goods industry for the last 15 years – he’s a local Utahan graduating from Brighton High School, Dixie College with his Associates Degree and Southern Utah University with his Bachelor’s Degree. Scott played baseball all four years of college and professional baseball in Germany. He is the proud father of Hannah & Kenadee.
Midvale Retail Manager
Todd brings more than 30 years of experience in the retail sporting goods and teams sales arena to the Academy Sports team. Before joining us he was the district manager with Gart Sports. He has coached numerous baseball and football teams from youth to High School divisions. He is married to his beautiful wife Melissa and is the proud father of Jordan, Jake and Maddie along with newest addition, grandson Liam.
Josh has been essential part of the Academy Sports team serving the Cache Valley and Northern Utah area for nearly twenty years and prides himself in his customer service. Josh is a graduate of Ben Lomond High School where he played baseball, soccer and basketball, he later attended Weber State University. Today Josh is still an active sports enthusiast and an avid Utah Jazz fan. Josh is happily married to his wife Gina, they have 3 beautiful children.
Todd began his career in the sporting goods industry in 1985 with Sports Image and joined the Academy Sports team when it opened its doors in 1990. He played football, basketball and baseball for Brighton High School, continuing his football time at Dixie College and later attending the University of Utah. He coached Quarterbacks and Wide Receivers at West Jordan High School from 2008 through 2013. He is married to his lovely wife Laurie, they are parents to Parker and Alexandra and welcomed their first grandchild Remington this last year.
Hillary started her career at Academy Sports in cheerleading sales, but now manages the Print Shop and Decoration division. Hillary handles all custom orders requiring printing, embroidery or tackle twill. She specializes in the entire process from conceptualization to delivery. Hillary is the resident expert in concept, design, art and the driving force in making sure Academy Sports is bringing our customers the best our industry has to offer.
Layton Retail Manager
Niki joined the Academy Sports team as the Layton Retail Manager after moving to Utah from Alabama where she worked in specialty sports. During her time in Alabama she served as the Treasurer and Board Member for an all sport recreation department, managing many baseball and softball tournaments as well as football jamborees. Niki has three active boys who all have played football, baseball, basketball, soccer, golf and wrestled – though their family loves baseball and college football the most.
Bruce has been with Academy Sports since our doors opened and a fixture in the sporting goods industry for 45 years. He graduated from Ben Lomond High School where he played basketball and baseball, later attending Utah State University on a basketball scholarship. He has four children, Melissa, Skyler, Arial and Landon; two grandchildren Oakley and Stella; and one great grandchild Mickey.
